Gujarat man, who lost his hand 20 years ago, casts vote with his toe [WATCH]

Ankit Soni, a voter who lost both of his hands 20 years ago, exercised his right to vote using his feet at a polling booth in Gujarat's Nadiad during the third phase of the Lok Sabha Elections on Tuesday. He encouraged voters across the country to get out and vote.

It was a front-foot effort. He inserts his right foot on a wooden bench. An official uses indelible ink to mark it. The man approaches the polling booth without his hands. He raises his foot again and votes, while also showing a video from Gujarat.

Mr Soni said, twenty years ago, he lost both of his hands due to an electric shock. With the help of his guru and teachers, he began drawing, then writing, and finally going to school. He did well in school. He completed my graduation, then went on to study computer science and later an MBA. 
He's been casting votes like this for numerous years. He urged the people to vote.

In another region of the state, a priest voted on Tuesday, assuring 100% participation at the polling station where he is the only registered voter.

Polling authorities traveled through the Gir forest to establish a voting station in Banej, where Mahant Haridas Udaseen is the only resident.

The third phase of Lok Sabha elections is being fought in 93 constituencies across 11 states and Union Territories. West Bengal had the greatest voter turnout until 1 p.m., with 49.27%, while Maharashtra had the lowest, with 31.55.
