New Delhi: The probe into the BrahMos spy case took the investigating agencies including the UP ATS to the BrahMos Aerospace manufacturing facility at Hyderabad, where the alleged Pakistani spy Nishant Aggarwal had undergone training for six months, to check whether he had leaked any critical information related to the design and other details of the supersonic cruise missile.
"Three members of the UP police's Anti-Terror Squad and other spy agencies had reached the BrahMos facility in Hyderabad where they checked details of the computer used by Agarwal during his training period to find out the details of documents on its hard drive," senior government sources told MyNation.
During the entire process, while checking Agarwal's computer, the ATS sleuths were constantly in touch with him and asking him questions on the security breach, the sources said. As per the information provided by the arrested official, the probe agencies may reach other facilities of BrahMos as well.
BrahMos has spread itself extensively in the last ten years with facilities in Kerala and Rajasthan.
The government is also seriously looking at the security breach caused from BrahMos Aerospace, which is a private limited company. The responsibility of securing the premises lies with the Chief Executive Officer of the corporation.
The investigating agencies are also working on the leads provided by the BrahMos employee during interrogation and also deeply analysing the details of chats between Agarwal and the fake Facebook id in Islamabad, created by the suspected Pakistani ISI handler there.
Aggarwal was in touch with two such fake ids from his location in Nagpur facility of BrahMos under the names "Neha Sharma" and "Pooja Ranjan". Such fake accounts are often used to approach senior officials in India and it has become the modus operandi of the enemy spy agency to honey trap them in the virtual world.
