Rahat Indori was an Indian poet and lyricist. He was born on 1 January 1950 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He died on 11 August 2020 in Indore. He did his schooling from Nutan School, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He attended Islamia Karimia College, Indore, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, and Bhoj University. 

His father’s name was Raftullah Qureshi, and his mother’s name was Maqbool Un Nisha Begum. He had three siblings. 

He was married to Seema Rahat. He was a father to two sons, Faizal Rahat and Satlaz Rahat, and a daughter, Shibli Irfan.

Rahat Indori had a keen interest in reading literature and reciting poems from a young age. He was the captain of the hockey and football teams in his school.

Rahat Indori did his post-graduation in Urdu literature and won a gold medal. He later pursued a PhD degree in Urdu literature and worked as a professor for 16 years.

Rahat Indori was also a skilled painter. He is given credit for designing many posters for popular Bollywood films. 

He has written several songs including, Raj Jo Kuch Ho Isaro Mein, Baharo Ka Ilaka Hai Jara, Mohabat Ke Safar Me, My Name is Laila, and Jagate Rahiye Ki Awaj, and more.
