Maharashtra: Mumbai cops celebrate informer's birthday inside station; 4 suspended
Minutes after a video where the police officials were seen celebrating informer's birthday in Bhandup police station went viral, four officials, including two sub-inspectors and head constables were suspended.
Mumbai: Four policemen were suspended after they were seen celebrating the birthday of an informer inside Bhandup police station at Mumbai in Maharashtra. The video of the celebrations went viral.
Amid the suspension, the senior inspector of the police station and the inspector in-charge of the night shift are also facing a preliminary inquiry for inadequate supervision of the police station.
The suspended policemen are Pankaj Shewale, Sachin Kokare, Subhash Ghosalkar and Anil Gaikwad, Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Pranaya Ashok said. Further reports in this regard are awaited.
