Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy will attempt to prove majority by moving the confidence motion today in Vidhana Soudha, while BJP will look to form government believing that the coalition government will fail the floor test.
Kumaraswamy seeks to prove his majority in the floor test today. On the other hand, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that the rebel MLAs in Karnataka could not be compelled to attend Assembly proceedings.
With the resignation of 16 MLAs, the strength of the Karnataka Assembly is brought down from 224 to 208 with the Congress-JD(S) strength down to 102 (including BSP MLA, Speaker and nominated member).
