Deve Gowda, Parameshwara involved in match-fixing to checkmate Siddaramaiah: BJP MLA
BJP MLA Suresh Gowda accused deputy chief minister G Parameshwara of indulging in match-fixing with JD(S) leaders. He alleged that Parameshwara paid Rs 5 crore for a deal with Chenningappa of the JD(S) in which they agreed that JD(S) will support Parameshwar in Korategere and the Congress will support Chenningappa's son Gaurishankar to win the Tumakuru rural MLA seat
BJP leader Suresh Gowda, in a shocking claim, stated that the Congress and the JD(S) in Tumakuru entering into a “match-fixing” deal, basically to checkmate Siddaramaiah. At an election campaign in Tumakuru on Monday evening, Gowda claimed that Parameshwara paid Rs 5 crore to JD(S) leader Chenningappa, a close aide of Deve Gowda, during the Assembly elections to work against their own sitting MLA Sudhakar Lal from Korategere and in return, Parameshwara would support Chennigappa's son Gowrishankar to win the Tumakuru Rural seat.
He further went on to state that the entire idea implemented at the behest of Deve Gowda was aimed at checkmating Siddaramaiah. By ensuring Parameshwara’s win, the JD(S) chief wanted to pit the SC community leader against Siddaramaiah who was aiming to become the chief minister for a second term.
