Nizamabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter K Kavitha who is seeking a re-election in the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency was gheraoed when she arrived to cast her vote on Thursday.

TRS MP Kavitha was gheraoed by several women farmers questioning her for not fulfilling promises that were made in 2014.

Farmers in Telangana alleged that the TRS failed to ensure Minimum Support Price for turmeric and red jowar.

As a mark of protest, 175 farmers have filed nominations in Nizamabad. The constituency now sees a battle of 185 candidates.
