Karnataka Child Rights Observatory: Children's concerns must become talking points during Lok Sabha polls
If political parties consider children as citizens, then they must address their concerns in the manifestos immediately, said Karnataka Child Rights Observatory. Here are their demands keeping children and Lok Sabha election in mind.
Karnataka Child Rights Observatory has raised serious concerns over children not being considered by the political parties while preparing the manifestos. They have demanded to consider children as citizens and provide them safety from bonded labour, sexual harassment, etc. Out of total Indian population, 40% are children. Among them, 70% live in rural areas. Thus it is an appeal to the political parties to consider the concerns of children like their health, education, safety and participation. The number of children suffering from malnutrition is large.
