New Delhi: From hosting some of the biggest celebrity weddings to being a popular tourist destination, Rajasthan is always a favourite haunt for everyone. The state doubles up as a shopping destination of sorts too, well-known for their handicrafts such as Meenakari jewellery, woven quilts, mojaris and more.
But did you ever wonder who makes all these pretty things?
Barefoot College of Rajasthan, organised a workshop cum bazaar to bring women behind these handicrafts to the forefront. Hailing from Tilonia village of Rajasthan, the women share how they are breaking glass ceilings, one fabric at a time. And, Tilonia Bazaar is just one of the ways.
The initiative not only empowers women but also educates the users about waste from the fashion apparel industry and how the women from Tilonia are turning trash into treasure. Take a look at the video and be mesmerised.
