Bengaluru: The residents of Krishnarajapuram's Railway Colony took the initiative to convert an empty and unused area into a mini forest.
With the help of SayTrees, an organisation with like-minded people, residents were able to successfully plant about 9578 saplings from 2016 in two phases. Indian Oil Corporation also contributed to this exceptional contribution by lending a helping hand during phase three of the project.
Residents of the Railway Colony took the initiative to convert the empty land in 2016 by planting about 2,000 saplings on the plot measuring 600 square metres. This full-fledged mini forest is now home to different species of birds and butterflies.
