
Why Special Protection Group (Amendment) Bill is necessary
The Special Protection Group (SPG) security cover that was provided to the Gandhi family including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi was withdrawn by the Union Government on November 8, 2019. The Special Protection Group (SPG) security cover has now been made exclusive to the Prime Minister of India and his immediate family members, if they reside with him at the official residence.
