Uttar Pradesh policeman caught on camera receiving bribe in Mirzapur

Mirzapur: A video of a Uttar Pradesh traffic policeman issuing a challan to a bike rider for a traffic rule violation in Mirzapur but tearing the receipt once he receives bribe has now gone viral. A motorist was seen ramming an electric pole, following which the police stopped his vehicle and slapped him with a fine. After the challan was issued, the rider argued with the police and handed over money as bribe. The policeman received the money and tore the challan, declaring him a non offender. All this was being shot on a mobile by a passerby without the knowledge of the police. The video was shared on social media. It also reached the Mirzapur superintendent of police (SP) Avdhesh Pandey, who has said that a probe will be conducted on this and action.
