Vijayapura: The residents of Vijayapura district in Karnataka witnessed wedding rituals held as per the 12th century's Shri Basavanna's tradition on Monday. The couples, Amit-Priya and Prabhuraj-Ankita's inter-caste marriages were unique as the brides tied mangalsutras around the necks of their respective grooms unlike the traditional way.
