Tamil Nadu: Karunanidhi birth anniversary celebrated
June 3 marks the birth anniversary of DMK supremo M Karunanidhi who is a stalwart in Tamil Nadu politics. Karunanidhi passed away on August 7 last year.
Kovilpatti: DMK functionaries celebrated the 96th birth anniversary of party supremo MK Karunanidhi. The five-time chief minister of Tamil Nadu passed away on August 7, 2018.
DMK workers across Tamil Nadu have erected portraits of the leader and celebrated his life. Kovilpatti leaders even distributed sweets to passers-by. Karunanidhi was born in Thirukkuvalai on June 3, 1924, a small village in Thanjavur District.
Tributes also poured in on social media as people remembered Karunanidhi's contributions in developing the state. Social media users tweeted using hashtag #HBDKalaignar96.
