Tamil Nadu: Group posing as govt officials robs man of Rs 11 crore
A man was stopped at Chengalpattu toll plaza and was robbed of Rs 11 crore by a group of men who posed as government officials. They conducted searches in his car and found the suitcase with money
Chennai: ‘Fake idol-wing police’ stole Rs 11 crore from a man who was carrying the cash while travelling from Madurai to Chennai.
The man reached Chengalpattu toll booth when a group of men posing as government officials stopped his car and searched the vehicle.
They confiscated the money saying that he can collect it from the police station.
When he went to the police station, he found out that the group was fake and the apparent raid was nothing but robbery.
The police have now registered a case and are looking for the culprits based on CCTV footage.
