Tamil Nadu: Fisherman’s body found floating near Nagapattinam
The body of a fisherman was found floating at Point Calimere near Nagapattinam. Minon, 41 had disregarded weather warning and ventured out into the sea on July 4.
Nagapattinam: The body of a 41-year-old fisherman was found floating near Point Calimere near Nagapattinam on Saturday.
After family members identified the body, doctors conducted the post-mortem at the spot, they said.
Four fishermen went missing due to bad weather conditions on July 4. Two fishermen were traced and rescued on July 8 and the Indian Navy intensified search operations for the other two fishermen.
Dornier aircraft from Chennai and Chetak helicopter from INS Parundu conducted aerial searches.
Fisheries department would consider awarding compensation to the families of the two fishermen though they ventured into sea for fishing disregarding the weather warning, officials said.
