Standalone visits show de-hyphenation of India and Pakistan from US foreign policy
Between 1959 and 2006 every US President who has visited India has also gone to Pakistan. The standalone visits by Obama and Trump clearly suggest that the US wants to de-hyphenate India from Pakistan in its foreign policy.
The last US President who made a state visit to Pakistan was George W Bush in the year 2006. That visit included India as well.
The next two Presidents, Barack Obama and Donald Trump, did not visit Pakistan and have made standalone trips to India. This clearly indicates a de-hyphenation of India and Pakistan from the US foreign policy. We decipher what this means as Simplified by Jervis Arthur.
