
Sri Lanka Police discover bombs in Omanthai jungle
Even as Sri Lanka is yet to come to terms with the Easter Sunday bomb blasts that claimed that lives of over 250 people, the country’s police continue to discover more bombs
Omanthai (Sri Lanka): Sri Lanka Police have found a bag filled with bombs on Sunday morning (June 30), in the jungles of Ilayamarndankulam area in Vavuniya.
According to police, there were around 25 landmines in the bag along with a bullet. The police recovered the explosives through a tip-off and the Special Task Force (STF) was notified of the same under the Vavuniya magistrate's court order.
The bombs will be disposed of by the STF personnel.
Police suspect that the bombs may have been hidden in order to revive the organisation, LTTE. Omanthai police are now conducting further investigations.
