Sabarimala Verdict: What transpired in Supreme Court

The Sabarimala verdict has been referred to a larger bench by the Supreme Court. The 2018 saw a 4:1 split verdict but the November 14 saw a 3:2 split verdict with Justice JY Chandrachud and Justice Nariman expressing dissent.

The Sabarimala verdict is now referred to a seven-judge bench by the Supreme Court. On the one hand, Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi, Justices A M Khanwilkar and Indu Malhotra said that this case needs to be heard by a larger Bench. On the other, the dissenting verdict was delivered by Justice RF Nariman and DY Chandrachud.
