Rs 31 lakh, 1 kg gold seized from woman at Chennai airport
A woman carrying Rs 31 lakh and 1 kg of gold was caught at the Chennai airport. The woman was trying to smuggle cash and gold into Malaysia
Chennai: A Chennai woman was allegedly trying to smuggle Rs 31 lakh and 1 kg of gold to Malaysia on Wednesday (May 8) and got arrested. The woman had hidden the money in her undergarments and hand baggage.
Fresh bundles of Rs 2,000 notes, amounting to Rs 31 lakh, were seized. Also, gold, hidden in her hand baggage, was seized. Investigations are underway on the source of the money and where should it have reached.
