Representatives of 91 countries visit Golden Temple; Pakistan, China give event a miss

India had invited 100 countries to visit the Golden Temple on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Ambassadors of 91 countries visited the temple, whereas those from Pakistan and China gave it a miss.

New Delhi: Union minister of housing and urban affairs (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri accompanied heads of foreign missions for a visit to the Golden Temple which is also called Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. However, Pakistan and China ambassadors gave the event a miss. The delegation will take part in celebrations related to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Hardeep Singh Puri also met the delegation prior to accompanying them in their visit. India had sent invitation to 100 countries. The foreign delegates were felicitated by the SGPC.
