Mangaluru: The Dubai to Mangaluru Air India Express flight veered off the taxiway after landing at the Mangaluru International airport, on Sunday evening (June 30). The incident occurred when AI Express aircraft VT-AYA, operating IX 384 at runway 24 while vacating the runway to the right side. An Air India spokesperson stated that all passengers were safe. After preliminary checking by the Air India Express engineers, tailwind and wet runway with inadequate braking action was reported. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed about the incident and an internal investigation has been ordered.
