Jal Shakti Abhiyan chairman inspects Punjab to install rainwater harvesting systems

Work on the first phase of the five phases of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan is about to begin with chairman, RK Kashyap inspecting Punjab in order to install facilities such as rainwater harvesting and drip irrigation.

Punjab: The first phase of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, initiated by the Centre is set to kick off in full swing with all states taking measures between July 1 and September 15.

RK Kashyap, chairman of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan inspected Punjab, along with his team members to take stock of the situation and spread awareness on conserving water.

Water in 10 blocks of the 11 in Jalandhar, have all reached the Dark Zone levels.

RK Kashyap will be installing rainwater harvesting plants at all households, industrial plants, in order to replenish the groundwater levels.
