IAF Mi-17 helicopter crashes due to technical snag in Kashmir's Budgam; 2 pilots dead

An Indian fighter jet crashed on Wednesday morning near Kashmir's Budgam district, just 7 km from Srinagar airport. Cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

Budgam: A day after the air strike was launched on JeM terror camps by the Indian Air Force (IAF), an IAF Mi-17 helicopter crashed in Kashmir's Garend Kalan village in Budgam district on Wednesday killing two pilots. The accident took place just seven kilometres away from Srinagar airport. 

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, which the IAF will investigate. 

Sorties of IAF Mi-17 helicopter have been stalled from Srinagar airway. After the incident, civil aviation activities have been suspended from Srinagar airport. Police have rushed to the spot.
