Bengaluru: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam became the 11th President of India. But he always referred to himself as a teacher first. He taught us the value of perseverance when he had to juggle between school and delivering newspapers so that his family could make ends meet. He went on to become an aerospace scientist and contributed immensely to ISRO and DRDO. Dr Kalam became the President of India in 2002 and earned the title People’s President. On his 88th birth anniversary, we honour him and his work.
