Gorantla: Four members of a family in Gorantla, Andhra Pradesh committed suicide by consuming rat poison. Two members of the family died on the spot and the other two were shifted to a nearby hospital for better treatment. According to sources, poverty and surmounting debt forced the family to attempt suicide. The deceased are identified as Somasekhar and Mohan. Ramakrishnamma and Venugopal are undergoing treatment.
