Analysing the future of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu after the first phase of polling in both the states, experts Prem Shankar and Hemant Kumar expressed likelihood of a sea of change in the political trend in the two states. Also considering the voter turnout details, here is what they have to say about the effect of alliance in both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Especially in Tamil Nadu with the absence of two powerful leaders, Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi, both the AIADMK (with BJP) and DMK (with Congress) shaking hands with two national parties, here is what the future of the states look like in the eyes of experts. At 7 pm, Tamil Nadu recorded 69.55% voter turnoout, whereas Karnataka recorded 61.94% up to 5 pm (latest numbers not out yet). Counting will take place on may 23.
