Is 'Jai Shri Ram' an abuse for West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee? A purported video that has surfaced and tweeted by BJP's Bengal in-charge, Kailash Vijayvargiya, where she is seen asking a bunch of youngsters who were chanting "Jai Shri Ram", "Why are you running away? Why abuse?"
The Bengal chief minister was on her way to Chandrakona when suspected BJP supporters raised the slogan. Mamata stopped the car, stepped out and asked: "Why abuse?"
Bengal, over the past two years, has witnessed an unprecedented saffron surge. And with a high pitched electoral battle going on, this purported video where she appears to be questioning the 'Jai Shri Ram' chant will only add fuel to the fire in the tinderbox that Bengal is. In no time, Kailash Vijayvargiya pounced on the opportunity to ask, "Can anyone tell me which chant will make Didi (Mamata) happy?"
