Chennai: Rishabh Pant, India's young cricket prodigy, displayed an impressive performance against the West Indies at the Chepauk ground on Sunday by scoring a breathtaking 58 off 38 balls to register his maiden T20I fifty. Pant also won the hearts of the fans, who were screaming his name, when he responded to them at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Dhawan missed out on his century by eight runs and it was a 130-run stand between Pant and Dhawan that ensured India clinch the last-ball thriller with six wickets to spare. The hosts completed a 3-0 whitewash.

MS Dhoni has a huge fan base in Chennai as he leads the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). And after a gap of two years, he led to them to the title in this year’s tournament in May.

On Sunday, fans were seen holding placards, “Miss you Dhoni” and also had their bodies painted with the tricolour and MS Dhoni written on it. Dhoni was dropped for the T20I series against the Caribbean side.
