Prior to the commencement of this series, Kohli was subjected to a lot of criticisms and doubts regarding his performance on English soil keeping his 2014 performance as the reference point. However, Kohli has managed to silence everyone by putting forth an impressive form.

Kohli’s 200 runs at Trent Bridge - the second time in the series he has compiled a double century of runs following his valiant effort in a losing cause at Edgbaston - was exactly what India needed after going 2-0 down in the series. Post the win, it is now with renewed confidence that India would seek to clinch the series away from the hosts.
