This season has been tough for Bhuvneshwar Kumar who had been struggling with his back ever since the culmination of IPL 2018. His problems led to him missing out on a couple of matches from even the ongoing England tour. His last match donning the Indian jersey was the third ODI against England, post which he had aggravated his lower-back injury and had to fly back.

However, much to the relief of the 28-year-old pacer and the national selectors, it appears that Bhuvi has recovered completely and is set to return to the field. Taking to Twitter, BCCI announced that Bhuvneshwar has been added to India ‘A’ squad that is playing a quadrangular series against India ‘B’, South Africa ‘A’ and Australia ‘A’. “Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been declared fit and will be part of India A squad in the ongoing quadrangular series. He will feature in the side’s next fixture against South Africa A,” the official tweet read.

With his impressive statistics of 63 wickets and 552 runs in 21 Tests, it comes as a huge relief that Bhuvneshwar Kumar has finally passed the Yo Yo test, which is compulsory to make it to the team.
