The move by the DMK came after Vellakoil MP Saminathan, who was the previous youth wing state secretary resigned from the post and paved the way for appointing Udhayanidhi Stalin to the position
Chennai: Kollywood actor and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin will reportedly be declared as the DMK youth wing state secretary on Thursday (July 4). It is also said that the DMK would disclose the news through a press statement.
According to reports, a DMK leader claimed that several leaders from various districts in Tamil Nadu are satisfied with Udhayanidhi being appointed as state secretary of the youth wing, to woo the youth and new voters.
This came after the former DMK youth wing secretary and Vellakoil MP Saminathan resigned from the post to pave the way for appointing Udhayanidhi to the post.
Udhayanidhi would be the third secretary of the four-decade-old youth wing and second from Karunanidhi's family. He gained the limelight after the demise of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and his way of campaigning during the recent Lok Sabha election.
