Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday crossed all limits and made personal remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi, while addressing a gathering at Hyderabad’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium on Monday, had reportedly said that the BJP would stand for the justice of Muslim women on the Triple Talaq Bill.

Reacting to this, the AIMIM leader mocked Modi by stating that the prime minister roamed around the world but did not take his wife along.

This personal comment from the AIMIM leader made rounds on social media and several political leaders slammed Owaisi.

Speaking to MyNation, Telangana BJP spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said, "The statements that he (Akbaruddin Owaisi) is making on the Prime Minister are irrelevant not just to the electorate of Hyderabad, but to the country. Making personal attacks and quoting family which Modiji does not have, is below the belt politics. And BJP would not lower itself to respond to that kind of antics."

Responding to the comment made on triple talaq, the BJP spokesperson said, "Before talking about triple talaq, he should look in the mirror before making any condescending remarks on Modiji who has liberated the Muslim women and empowered them through the Triple Talaq Bill."

With nine days left for Telangana to go to Lok Sabha polls, the AIMIM leader's comments have left a bitter taste in people’s mouths.

In the seven-phased Lok Sabha elections, Telangana will vote on April 11 and the results will be announced on May 23.
