Bengaluru: Former PM and JD(S) Supremo HD Deve Gowda's family including his two grandsons were leading in their respective constituencies in Karnataka a while ago. However, the trends suggest that Deve Gowda is trailing and Nikhil and Sumalatha have been taking turns in being ahead. Prajwal has maintained a lead of over 81,000 votes against his counterpart from BJP, A Manju.

Deve Gowda is up against BJP’s GS Basavaraj. Going by the current trend, Deve Gowda's dream of victory seems to be in danger.

Meanwhile in Mandya, Deve Gowda's grandson Nikhil Kumaraswmay is trailing against BJP-supported independent candidate Sumalatha. Mandya is considered a high-profile constituency as both Sumalatha and Nikhil are actors and their campaigns included star power.

Hassan, a stronghold of JD(S), saw differences surfacing among the party cadres when Prajwal Revanna's candidacy was announced instead of Deve Gowda. Currently, Prajwal is leading with a 50,000 difference against his BJP counterpart A Manju, who was previously in Congress and quit when his party supported Prajwal's candidacy.
