Amaravathi: The Congress and the Communist Party of India (CPI) announced the candidates list for the Assembly seats with respect to the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress list was released by All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Mukul Wasnik after it was cleared by the Central election committee of the Congress. The party contains 132 candidates for Andhra Pradesh.

Congress has fielded Ram Krishna Panda from the Hinjili constituency, which was represented four times by the Biju Janata Dal chief and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik. This time too, Patnaik will be contesting from Hinjili Assembly seat that falls under the Aska Lok Sabha constituency.

On the other side, the CPI party will be fielding Muppalla Nageswar Rao from Mangalagiri Assembly seat opposite TDP's Nara Lokesh, while ML Narayana will be contesting from Kanigiri.

Other leaders contesting are DVG Sankar Rao from Palakonda, P Kameswar Rao from Srungavarapu Kota, JV Satyanarayana Murty from Visakhapatnam West, and K Ramanjaneyulu from Dhone.

The Assembly elections to the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly are scheduled to be held on April 11

Meanwhile, out of 175 Assembly seats, CPI and CPM will contest seven Assembly seats each, with the remaining seats going to the Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena. The Congress has fielded 132 candidates.

Andhra Pradesh will go to polls in a single phase on April 11. Both the Lok Sabha and legislative Assembly polls will be held in the state simultaneously on this day.
