Workers file petition to reopen Tuticorin Sterlite industry in Tamil Nadu
Following the violent anti-Sterlite protests at Tuticorin, locals claim that they have no jobs after the shutting down of the plant
After the chaotic protests that took place over the Tuticorin Sterlite plant locals from the Puthiyamputhur village have now submitted a petition to Tuticorin District Collector to re-open the industry.
Locals claiming that they have been left unemployed after the plant was shut down due to protests.
However, the Sterlite plant will remain closed and the question to re-open it does not arise at all said the district administration.
