Watch: Woman engineer, assistant arrested in bribery case in Tamil Nadu
A 48-year-old woman executive engineer and her assistant had demanded Rs 5000 bribe from a silver merchant to approve the plan of his new house
Salem: A woman executive engineer of Salem Municipal Corporation (SMC) and her assistant were arrested on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from a businessman. He had approached them to get an approval of the plan for a new house. Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) sleuths arrested the accused based on the complaint filed by P Arasu, 38, of Kondalampatty, a silver ornaments merchant. Executive engineer Kalaivani, 48, and her assistant are said to have confessed to the crime.
