Congress’s woes on social media refuse to end as the party-promoted workshop against ‘bullying’, slated to be held on Saturday at Jawahar Bhawan, came under heavy fire from within the Congress camp on Thursday.

@LatoyaFerns reacted sharply on Twitter to the proposed workshop, raking up the most recent case of sexual harassment of a Muslim girl in the party’s social media department led by Divya Spandana aka Ramya.

Venting her ire against the Congress and Spandana, @LatoyaFerns tweeted: “This is like a slap in the face of the 4 former employees who complained about bullying @INCIndia Social Media, @divyaspandana. Have you gotten rid of your in-house bully @Chirag? Not even after he was accused of sexual harassment?! Congress deserves better! Thanks @mehartweets.”

MyNation was the first to interview the victim who had charged former colleague and Spandana’s right hand man Chirag Patnaik with harassing her sexually at workplace. An FIR too had been lodged with the North Avenue Police Station.

In the wake of the controversy, Spandana had also tried to allegedly shield the accused and is also co-accused in the FIR, charged with mental harassment when the victim had brought the matter to her notice.

MyNation had also revealed that the victim, a Muslim girl, had also sent her plaint to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, but to no avail.

The tweet received support from former workers at the department. A reply to the tweet read like this: “They've just set irony turning high-speed in its grave! Thanks for speaking up, Latoya. You're a true practitioner of the values & principles the party stands for.”

@LatoyaFerns also wrote on the social media platform: “I learned from our late PM Indira Gandhi that abuse thrives in silence and that it's ok to call our own out if the moral compass is pointing in a different direction than some in the Congress are headed. Our President @RahulGandhi tells us #DaroMat!”

Taking a dig at the Congress, BJP national IT head Amit Malviyachided Gandhi for his silence on the issue. “While we are on bullying and harassment, another woman from Congress speaks up against the rampant exploitation in Congress's IT department under Divya Spandana, usual suspect is the aggressor. But Rahul Gandhi won't speak up for the women in his own party! Such double standards,” Malviya tweeted.
