Lucknow: A second FIR was lodged in the Apple executive Vivek Tiwari murder case on Sunday. This comes a day after he was allegedly killed by two cops for not stopping at a routine checking on Saturday in Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow.

The complainant in the second FIR is Tiwari’s widow Kalpana, and she has accused two constables – Prashant Chaudhary and Sandeep Kumar – of murdering her husband.

In the fresh FIR, constable Prashant Chowdhary was accused of opening fire on tech company executive Vivek Tiwari by putting the barrel of the pistol on the windshield.

According to Vivek’s family, the first FIR was filed by Sana Khan, Vivek’s co-worker. She was the only eyewitness in the case because she was travelling with Vivek in the same car. Khan had pointed out some discrepancies about the FIR that was lodged. She alleged that the police wrote the FIR on their own and then later made her sign it. This created an uproar and the public criticised the police, as a result of which, a second FIR was lodged on Sunday.

On Saturday, Vivek Tiwari was travelling with a woman colleague, when police officers, apparently noticing "suspicious activity" signalled him to stop the car. However, Tiwari tried to flee, following which police constable Prashant Chaudhary took out his service pistol and shot at him. As a result, Tiwari lost control of the vehicle and hitting the constable's motorcycle before ramming his car into an electricity pole.

Tiwari was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
