Jammu and Kashmir: From 57.6% in first phase to 31.3% in the second phase, the poll percentage in the third phase of municipal elections has dropped down to 16.4%.
Despite more than 80% voter turnout in Jammu region, the overall percentage in the state dropped down to mere 16.4%. Three districts of Kashmir valley recorded an average voting percentage of 3.5, which is 0.1% more than that of the previous phase.

In Kashmir region, Uri recorded the highest voter turnout with 75.3% voters heading out to voting centres whereas Srinagar recorded the lowest poll percentage of 1.8%.

In Jammu division, 81.4% polling was witnessed in 4 urban local bodies (ULB) of district Samba. Highest polling percentage of 85.73% was recorded in Bari Brahamana ULB.

The cumulative vote percentage in three phases till date dropped further down to 41.9% with 68.4% voting recorded in Jammu division and 6.7% in Kashmir. This decline in poll percentage is expected in the fourth phase as the wards undergoing polls in the last phase are from the terror-hit areas of Kashmir.

The final phase of the municipal polls is scheduled to be held on October 16, 2018. Result of the polls will be declared on October 20, 2018.
