Srinagar: Targeting civilians in the name of 'Jihad' is not a new thing which terror outfits are now doing. Since the very start of the counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir, the civilian population supporting peace and normalcy has been the prime target of the terrorists, be it the father of Sajjad Lone, Abdul Gani Lone or the incidents afterwards.

In the last 48 hours, terror outfits have abducted seven youths from south Kashmir's Shopian which is also known as the "hot bed of terrorism". Four youths have been released while two were brutally killed.

On Saturday morning, the terrorists had abducted three civilians from Saidpora Payeen. The same evening, they released two and brutally killed one.

The terrorists on Saturday evening abducted Hakib Javed Ganie and Ishfaq Ahmad from Meemender village which is on the outskirts of Shopian. However, they were later released after thrashing them.

In another incident of the same nature, the terrorists on Sunday kidnapped one more youth from Meemender. The youth has been identified as Suhail Ahmad Ganie, a local resident of Meemender.

In this deadly series of abductions, the terrorists have brutally killed two. 

On Friday, a youth named Nadeem Manzoor of Pulwama was killed in a brutal act of terror. The terrorists fired 20 rounds, a video of which was also released by a terror outfit.

On Saturday evening, the terrorists killed another local youth on the apprehensions of him being an "agent of security agencies".

In the second killing, the terrorists murdered a youth in Shopian district, hours after abducting him from Saidpora area of Shopian. He has been identified as Huzaif Ashraf, 19, who was working in a local bakery. His throat was slit by the terrorists and they released a video of the brutal act.
