New Delhi: In politics, one can never be ruled out. Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit's magical return to power as Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president has only reiterated that age-old saying.

Dikshit has been appointed the Delhi Congress chief after Ajay Maken resigned from the post citing ill-health.

Though Maken congratulated Dikshit, expressing hope that the Congress under her leadership will play a decisive role, his disenchantment with Dikshit's way of functioning is well known. Maken has been at odds with Dikshit, even when they were both part of the Delhi government. Later Maken tried to be even with Dikshit when he became the all-powerful AICC media in-charge.

Sources said Dikshit will have four working presidents to assist her.

People close to Maken say that he had sensed that the 80-year-old Dikshit was to be made the DPCC chief and hence resigned.
