New Delhi: Self-styled godman Rampal was found guilty by a Haryana court in two murder cases on Thursday.

Rampal was convicted on the charges of murder in a 2006 case relating the death of a woman supporter during clashes between his followers and those of the Arya Samaj.

The godman was also convicted on the charges of murder in a 2014 case that dealt with the deaths of four women and a child during clashes between his followers and security personnel, who had come to the ashram to arrest Rampal for the 2006 murder case.

Ram Rahim

Recently, Panchkula CBI court granted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh bail in the case of alleged castration of his male followers. He is also accused of murder, rape and weapon training.

Nithyananda

The self-styled godman is accused of allegedly raping his former disciple when she used to stay in the ashram. It is only after eight years that the trial proceeding has finally begun.

Radhe Maa

The 48-year-old self-styled godman of Dera Paramhans has been accused of seducing a devotee when he went to seek her blessings. She is also embroiled in dowry harassment case.

Asaram

 Asaram was convicted by Jodhpur court for raping a teenager in 2013. He and his son were also accused of raping two sisters in Surat between 2002 to 2004.

Zakir Naik

 Islamic preacher Zakir Naik was booked for his hate speeches and for inciting the youth to take up terror activities by National Investigation Agency.

Chandraswami

The late controversial godman Chandraswami was allegedly involved in the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. Not only this, his name came up in several legal controversies, including financial irregularities.

Swami Premananda

In August 1997, Premananda, along with six others, were convicted of raping 13 minor girls. He was also convicted for allegedly murdering another disciple.

Bishop Franco Mulakkal

Mulakkal was arrested for allegedly raping a nun in a convent at Kottayam, Kerala. Three more women accused the bishop of sexual misconduct against them.

Gulzar Ahmed Bhat

According to reports by Times of India, the 42-year-old self-styled Sufi dervish Gulzar Ahmed Bhat was accused of raping about 500 young women for the past 18 years.

Ichchadhari Sant

Ichchadhari Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakoot, who claimed that he is a disciple of Sai Baba, was arrested in 1997 for running a prostitution racket.
