Jharkhand: Nishikant Dubey, the Godda MP who created a row by posting photos of one of his constituent Pawan Kumar Sah washing his feet and drinking the water, remains unapologetic. Adding to the curious turn of events, Sah has now filed a case in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Godda demanding action against senior journalists and proprietors of major news organisations.

He alleges battling emotional trauma after the incident due to ‘enquiries’ and ‘threats’ over the phone by media houses. Sah has asked a case to be registered under IPC 500, 504 and 506 along with section 67 of IT Act, 2000 against Rohini Singh, Aroon Purie, Radhika Roy, Pranab Roy, Abhik Sarkar, Chief Editor of ANN, Rahul Joshi, Sudhir Chowdhury, Sudhir Agrawal and Chandan Sharma.

He further tried to whitewash the mediaeval act by stating that Dubey had objected to his offer to wash his feet and agreed to the act only after Sah had ‘threatened to stab himself with a knife’. He also claims to feel suicidal due to the intense media attention, blaming the aforementioned veteran journalists should something happen to him.

It all came to play when on September 16 photos of Sah washing the feet of Nishikant Dubey were posted by the MP on his social media that caused a huge furore. However, many are now casting doubts over this 'voluntary move' by Sah.

RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav tweeted, “Instead of apologizing for his shameful conduct BJP MP Nishikant Dubey (getting his dirty feet washed by a poor man who then drank that water) is bullying and trying to intimidate people in the media & social media through cases through his proxies”.
