Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and business tycoons Gautam Adani and Kumar Mangalam Birla, has launched 81 projects, worth Rs 60,000 crores, at the ‘Rising UP, Powering New India’ event in Lucknow today.

While speaking at the event, Modi lauded the way development plans were carried out in Uttar Pradesh in such a short span of time.

Though people are calling this event a ground-breaking ceremony, it is record record-breaking as this will be a big stepping stone for initiatives like Digital India and Make in India, according to the prime minister.

Modi talked about how this year’s monsoon is being favourable for farmers. However, incessant rainfall, he said, created inconvenience for some people in several parts of the country and government is doing everything for their wellbeing. 

He added that his government is working on the approach of holistic vision and inclusive action.

Modi also appreciated the efforts of the Yogi Adityanath government to maintain talks with investors. 

The prime minister said that India has become the second largest producer of mobile phones and he is happy about the fact that Uttar Pradesh is leading the country in the march towards becoming a modern nation. 

Modi also slammed the previous government for lacking vision to take India forward and said that they didn’t have the desire to do good and their intentions were not clear.

On Saturday, in Lucknow, Modi also attended an event to celebrate anniversary of three government initiatives - Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (urban), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and the Smart Cities Mission.
