Mandya accident: President Kovind, PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Rajeev Chandrasekhar condole death of 25 people

Mandya: At least 25 people lost their lives when a private bus fell into a canal near Mandya, Karnataka. President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others have expressed shock and condoled the loss of people.

The bus with about 40 passengers fell into canal killing  25 and many are washed away in the water. Rescue teams are trying to bring them to the shore. 

The driver of the private bus fled the place as soon as the bus fell into the water body. 

Leaders across the country have expressed their grief over the tragic incident.

Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has expressed shock over the incident and has announced Rs 5 lakh compensation to the family of each victim. 

Kumaraswamy also postponed the State Film Awards distribution ceremony and visited the accident spot in Mandya.
