Kiran Bedi leads road safety drive in Puducherry; requests motorists to wear helmet
National Road Safety Week was celebrated in the country between February 4 and February 10
Puducherry: Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Sunday led a special drive on road safety campaign on the busy Puducherry-Villupuram main road. She also requested the motorists to use a helmet and safety gadgets while riding.
During the campaign, Bedi was telling a man riding a motorcycle with his wife and two children that "such violation of traffic rules will not be tolerated".
Bedi also spotted an overcrowded auto-rickshaw and warned its driver, besides asking some passengers to get off.
Bedi asked police personnel to check motorists and ensure that traffic rules are followed.
