Pathanamthitta: Nine persons, including Rahul Easwar, were granted bail. They protested against women's entry into Sabarimala temple and Ayyappa Dharma Seva Sangam president Rahul Easwar was arrested by police on October 17.

The Ranni magistrate court granted the bail to Rahul Easwar. He was arrested while protesting in Pamba and Nilakkal.

Pamba police charged Rahul Easwar under various sections of the IPC including section 143 (unlawful assembly),147 (rioting), read with 149 (member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecuting of common object of the assembly) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public serving from discharge of duty).

Rahul had been remanded for 14 days and was in the Kottarakkara sub-jail. His relatives had informed the court that Rahul's health condition in prison is terrible so he should be granted bail. He was on hunger strike in the jail. 

Earlier, Deepa, Rahul Easwar's wife, condemned the arrest through a live video that she recorded right outside the jail. Deepa said that Rahul’s arrest was unnecessary.
