Kochi: The fish-selling Kerala college student, Hanan, who became famous after her story went viral on social media, is hospitalised. She was injured in an accident on September 3.

“I doubt that the accident was intentional. An online media rushed to the spot soon after the accident. I haven’t even heard of its name before. They captured my video and said it was their exclusive. The accident took place at around 6 am. I couldn’t understand who called them or how they reached the spot quickly. They even went live on Facebook without even asking me and they are still bothering me,” said Hanan.

Hanan also added that there is inconsistency in the driver’s statement. “His behaviour also doesn’t look right. He keeps changing what he said. I will inform everything to the police,” she said.

On September 3, she was injured in a car accident in Kodungaloor in Thrissur district, Kerala. She was given treatment at a private hospital in Kodungaloor and she was later shifted to Kochi Medical Trust Hospital for further treatment.

Hanan’s father visited her at the hospital. It has been one and a half years since she met her father Hameed. He called when she appeared in the news. When he heard about the accident, he reached Medical Trust hospital to see her. Hanan was happy to see her father and said that she’s no more an orphan.

Hanan sells fish to support her family. And her story appeared in the local media and was later shared widely on social media.

She was subjected to trolls as many claimed her story as fake. However, she won the of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He called her “Kerala’s daughter” after she met him in his office.

Recently, Hanan donated Rs 1.5 lakh to Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood-hit victims. Hanan said this was the amount she had received through donations from people after her story went viral.
