Kerala: Oldest Asian elephant passes away at 88
Chengalloor Dakshayani, the oldest Asian elephant in captivity, died on Tuesday.
Thiruvananthapuram: Chengalloor Dakshayani at 88, passed away on Tuesday. The elephant was a Guinness record holder and was owned by Travancore Devaswom board. The elephant died at the elephant farm at Satyan Nagar at Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram following a brief illness.
The elephant in 2016 received Guinness recognition for its age and health condition.
